Maurice Estève (1904-2001) was a French artist known for his role in the Tachisme movement, which involved European abstract modern painters. He experimented with color and created organic forms in his artwork. Estève also worked with collage and painted large murals. In 1970, he received the Grand Prix National des Arts. He donated much of his work to the city of Bourges, France, where the Estève Museum opened in 1987.
