Man Ray

Man Ray (1890-1976) was an American modernist artist & photographer. While photography was his most celebrated medium, Man Ray was also a painter, filmmaker, and sculptor. He considered himself a painter first and foremost. Ray has been a significant contributor to the Dada & Surrealist movements. Man Ray was best known in the art world for his avant-garde photography, and was a renowned fashion and portrait photographer. Ray is also noted for his work with photograms, which he called “rayographs” about himself. His works are in many private collections and Museums.
