Man Ray (1890-1976) was an American modernist artist & photographer. While photography was his most celebrated medium, Man Ray was also a painter, filmmaker, and sculptor. He considered himself a painter first and foremost. Ray has been a significant contributor to the Dada & Surrealist movements.
