Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) was a Spanish painter and a leading figure in the Surrealist movement of the 20th century. He studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid. In addition to his work as a painter, Dalí was also a prolific writer, filmmaker, sculptor, and photographer. He was known for cultivating an eccentric public persona, famously characterized by his distinctive mustache.
